How would you carry Power Gel along a race

Anybody can share the ideal / effective way of carrying Power Gel in a race?

I'm thinking if I should hole 1 pack in the fist, another pack under my hat...

I sew them to the running short (near the rubber band), then fold them to the inside to avoid them shaking. I just tear the gel off when I need them. Some people use the stapler, I thought it might scratch the skin so I use sewing.
